Students from the Tbilisi State Medical University involved in the Translation Project

We were very excited to have recently been contacted by Prof. Tinatin Tkemaladze, MD and her team from Tbilisi, Georgia, regarding the translation of our Unique guides. Dr. Tkemaladze is a clinical geneticist, as well as the head of the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics at Tbilisi State Medical University.

Dr. Tkemaladze explained that there is very little information about rare genetic disorders available for Georgian families in their native language and she has been working with her colleagues to raise awareness and provide further information. They have now created a team of over 60 students to translate a selection of our guides and their hard work will be reviewed by the Department’s academic staff! All done completely voluntarily and in their own time.

We would like to say a great big thank you to everyone involved … Georgian families are very lucky to have such a dedicated group of academics!

As usual, all guides will be placed on our website at www.rarechromo.org/disorder-guides and will be freely available to anyone who may find them helpful.
