I’m Claire and I work at Unique as a Scientific Communications Manager. My professional background has included working as a postdoctoral research scientist and as a secondary school science teacher.

I have been part of the Unique team since 2017 after my niece was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. My work primarily involves managing our information guide project to hundreds of genetic conditions, alongside Anna and Niamh, but I am also passionate about the opportunity my role gives me to collaborate with clinicians, university researchers and other professionals on diverse projects within the rare disease research and policy fields.

However, it is the interactions I have with our members that have the most significant impact on shaping my ability to carry out all aspects of my work and I can’t emphasise enough how valuable the information and personal experiences you share with us are. Thank you!
