Other Ways To Help

Online fundraising

Click for Unique

Become a supporter of Unique and help raise funds - without it costing you a penny. How many times a day do you use Google or another search engine? Why not raise at least £12 a year for Unique by using "Everyclick" search engine instead?

Unique has signed up to this innovative new fundraising tool that generate donations using the search facilities of the internet. And best of all, it doesn't cost you or Unique a penny! EveryClick allocates 50% of its gross revenue to charity. Each listed charity will receive a proportion of that sum equivalent to the proportion in which its supporters use the website relative to the supporters of other listed charities

SImply go to easyFundraising.org.uk and use the links provided on the website when you shop and up to 15% of your purchase price will be donated back to us, completely FREE OF CHARGE!

It doesn't cost a penny extra to shop and raise funds in this way and you can even SHOP FOR LESS and SAVE MONEY - many retailers give extra discounts, special offers and even "coupon-codes" - some exclusively to easyfundraising members.

Collection Pyramids

Have you ever wondered what to do with all those 5p's or 20p's that sometimes fall down the back of the sofa or chair? Why not put them into a Unique collection pyramid? They are small and easy to put anywhere.

We already have a few in shops, pubs and on work tea trolleys and even a chip van. So why not have one in your home and one in your work place or local pub. The pyramids measure approx. 14cm (5.5") and are made of cardboard and come flat-packed (very easy to put together).

We will require you to fill out an agreement form before sending one to you (it is a legal requirement when collecting for charity).

Please note that we can not claim Gift Aid on donations made via the pyramid collection boxes. If you would like one, please contact Marion.

Leaving a Legacy

Leaving a legacy to Unique helps invest in our future. You could literally change the lives of families who are affected by rare chromosome disorders by supporting the work we do with families all over the world.

What is a legacy?

A legacy is a gift left in a will. A gift made to a charity is called a charitable bequest. There are three different types of legacy:

  • A Residuary Legacy/Gift - this is a popular way to leave a gift to a charity as it increases in line with inflation. A percentage or the total amount of money left of your estate (i.e. property, possessions and money) after any after bequests to your family or friends and after taxes, debts or bills have been settled and any other people have been honoured
  • Pecuniary Legacy - This is a specific amount of money. Although it is important to remember that a set amount decreases its value over time
  • Specific Legacy or Gift in Kind - This is an item you decide to leave such as jewellery, furniture or property

Of course making your will is a very personal matter and Unique will respect your privacy. We would very much like to thank you personally for making such a generous donation, so, if you could let us know if Unique is made a charitable bequest in your will we would be very grateful.

Making or changing your Will

If you have already made or are thinking of making your will and would like to include a charitable bequest to Unique then it is important that it is done professionally and you should seek your solicitor or other advisor.

If you want to make more than one charity a beneficiary in your will, you may like to consider the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) Legacy Account. The CAF Legacy Account is a rewarding service that makes leaving money to charity in your will easy. You can find out more by visiting www.allaboutgiving.org/legacies or telephone CAF on 01732 520 055.
